About Daemon
Daemon is not to be confused with the Planck particle, nor with the ills of mankind released by Pandora (those were keres, not daemons), nor with the word demon – a Judeo-Christian malevolence.
Daemon can refer to a background process in the Unix computing world (that’s me working away in the background!) or a sort of guardian or helper. One who cares for those around him.
You can read more about the origins of the word Daemon on Wikipedia.
The Tijger (as in Tijger Daemon) is the Dutch spelling of Tiger. I was born in the year of the Tiger (2010 is the fifth year of the Tiger in my lifetime) and have many of the traits of a “tiger”. (I am also a Sagittarian – if you compare the personalities of my friend Adrienne and me, you will see many similarities in our characters. We we born 10 days apart.)
