Thanks for the advice, Naomi. I spent half the morning yesterday cleaning up after him/her.
He is eating and drinking but at the moment just walking around the garden or resting. He is extremely emaciated – probably the result of being blown well off course and now having to get home the long way around.
He spent the night in a protected pen and has tried three times this morning to get (slightly) airborne. Give him another 24 hours and I think he will be able to head off west towards Antwerp.

That pigeon might have been sick green feces is a sign of an infection. Maybe clean that area it defecated on to avoid contamination.

Just had a quick look at the new TwentyTen theme and promply buggered up the Suffusion layout
Just spent 20 minutes trying to get it all back in order – thankfully all the widgets and their settings are set as inactive and not removed completely

Er.. No. The release cable for the glovebox is damaged and if it is closed it will be almost impossible to reopen. A new cable has been ordered but it won’t be there tomorrow – so no glovebox for the next week…

Anecdote from 25+ years ago. Heard on the ATC radio at (I believe) RAF Honington - ICAO callsign EGXH - when they took over from Mildenhall for the night shift: SR-71: Honington, this is Blackbird 4-1 requesting flight level 7-8-0 (that's 78000 feet, 24000 metres) EGXH: (thinks, there's NOTHING at 7-8-0) Roger Blackbird 4-1, you are cleared to flight level 7-8-0 SR-71: Thank you Honington; DECENDING to flight level 7-8-0!!!

My uncle was one of the engineers on the Olympus engine team at Filton. I have stood next to a Concorde engine running full thrust on the testbed!

Owsome =D . Those planes always fascinated me My absolute favorite is SR-71 (not as fuel efficient I guess). I hope discovery is going to make a documentary about it =) .
